Dear NFM Community,

We are excited to highlight the remarkable efforts of the Emory Fellowship, a proud member of Strengthening the Black Church for the 21st Century (SBC21). Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Joe Daniels and his dedicated team, the Fellowship is investing in innovative fundraising strategies to further its mission and impact. They are currently in the process of developing their Cases for Support and engaging in top-level,
front-line fundraising, with an ambitious goal of raising over $500,000 in new money for essential programs and capital improvements.

The Mission and Vision:
The Emory Fellowship has always been a beacon of hope and transformation in our community. With a strong commitment to social justice, spiritual growth, and community development, their mission is to create impactful programs that address the needs of the underserved and foster a nurturing environment for spiritual and personal growth.

Developing the Cases for Support:
Dr. Joe Daniels and his team are meticulously crafting compelling Cases for Support with guidance from NFM. These documents will articulate the Fellowship’s mission, vision, and the critical needs of their programs. By clearly outlining the impact of their work and the necessity for funding, they aim to engage donors on a deeper level, highlighting the transformative power of their contributions.

Front-Line Fundraising Efforts:
The team is not just developing strategies; they are actively engaging in front-line fundraising with support from NFM. This hands-on approach involves reaching out to potential donors, sharing the Fellowship’s vision, and demonstrating the tangible benefits of their support. Their efforts are focused on building strong, lasting relationships with donors who share their passion for positive change.

Preparing for a Sit-Down Gala:
In addition to their current fundraising initiatives, the Emory Fellowship is preparing to host a sit-down gala early next year. This event will serve as a cornerstone of their fundraising efforts, bringing together community members, supporters, and stakeholders to celebrate their achievements and rally further support for their mission. The gala promises to be an inspiring evening of reflection, celebration, and commitment to the future of the Fellowship. Goal: Raising Over $500,000. The Emory Fellowship has set an ambitious goal to raise over $500,000 in new money.

These funds will be allocated towards:

  • Essential Programs: Expanding and enhancing programs that address critical community needs, including educational initiatives, social justice advocacy, and spiritual development.

  • Capital Improvements: Upgrading facilities to better serve the community, creating spaces that are welcoming, functional, and reflective of the Fellowship’s commitment to excellence.

The Impact

Reaching this fundraising goal will have a profound impact on the Emory Fellowship and the community it serves. The additional resources will enable the Fellowship to expand its reach, improve its services, and continue to be a pillar of support and transformation. The Emory Fellowship’s dedication to strategic fundraising, guided by NFM, serves as a powerful example for other SBC21 members. Their proactive approach demonstrates the significant potential for positive change through investing in comprehensive fundraising efforts. We hope their journey will inspire other SBC21 ministries to embark on their fundraising endeavors, driving impactful change within their communities.

“Investing in and modernizing our fundraising efforts is not just about securing financial resources—it’s about empowering our community and ensuring the sustainability of our mission. For Black churches, embracing innovative fundraising strategies is crucial for addressing today’s challenges and seizing opportunities for growth and impact. By doing so, we can continue to be beacons of hope and transformation for generations to come.”
